MTGA Announces “Connecting Michigan” Grant Program
Michigan Trails and Greenways Alliance has been a catalyst for trail connections across the state for more than 30 years (first as Michigan TRRails Alliance, then as Rails-to-Trails Conservancy Michigan Chapter, and presently as Michigan Trails and Greenways Alliance). Michigan is currently #1 in the country in rail-trail mileage, but there is much more work to be done. The new “Connecting Michigan” small grant program will help to further those efforts. The MTGA Board of Directors has established a grant fund of $20,000 to be awarded in the range of $2,500 to $5,000. Eligible projects are those which will contribute to the acquisition, construction, improvement or linkage to any Michigan multi-use trailway. Applicants may have 501c3 status, but it is not required.
