Draft Issue Statement

Michigan lacks a consistent vehicle for allocating trail resources, fostering communication/cooperation among stakeholders, and providing an interconnected statewide network of trails. The lack of such a mechanism results in misalignment and inefficiences in funding, missed opportunities, less public involvement, and less cohesive trail thinking across state departments and stakeholders, which results in fragmented information to funders, trail groups, and the public at large.
